Bauerfeind AG is joining forces with basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki, who is set to become a global brand ambassador for the family-run company based in Zeulenroda, Thuringia (Germany). Dirk Nowitzki’s history with Bauerfeind products goes back a long way.

“I’ve been a fan of Bauerfeind products for many years now,” says Dirk Nowitzki. “I have to be able to rely on my body – and Bauerfeind helps me to do that. Its products are world-class.”

Dirk Nowitzki is the first global brand ambassador for Bauerfeind, which manufactures medical products such as supports for the knee, ankle, and back. The 37-year-old, German-born international superstar is set to embark on a long-term partnership with global firm Bauerfeind AG.

“Dirk Nowitzki was already a fan of our products and has remained down-to-earth despite his incredible achievements – that’s why I think he’s the perfect brand ambassador. I’m really looking forward to working with him,” says Chief Executive Officer Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind. The 75-year-old represents the third generation of the Bauerfeind family to run the company, which was founded in 1929 and now has around 2,000 employees. His son Thomas Bauerfeind (41) is the Chief Financial Officer, while his daughter Beatrix Bauerfeind-Johnson (36) is a member of the Supervisory Board.

Bauerfeind is known throughout the international sporting world. Supports, orthoses, orthopedic insoles, and medical compression stockings manufactured by the Zeulenroda-based company have been used at major events such as the Olympic Games since 2002. Elite athletes around the world rely on these high-quality products, which are made exclusively in Germany and have won numerous awards. Top national basketball and football teams also use Bauerfeind’s medical products.

“We want to forge new paths with Dirk Nowitzki and showcase the benefits that our products can bring to anyone, whether they need them for sporting activities or just for everyday life,” explains Thomas Bauerfeind. The new campaign featuring Dirk Nowitzki’s debut as a brand ambassador is set to be launched in March.
