We are talking about the world’s biggest sporting event: the Summer Olympic Games. Athletes
come from all around the world to fight for a precious Olympic medal. Medical supplies for the
athletes play a crucial part in ensuring everything runs smoothly, paving the way for great sport-
ing performances and unforgettable moments. Bauerfeind is sharing this responsibility in 2012.
“We’re ready!”
Bauerfeind and the Summer Olympic Games 2012
A 16-day period this summer will see 302
decisive moments across 26 sports. But
great sporting performances also need
the right conditions – and these include
a sophisticated medical supply system. In
2012 Bauerfeind is doing its bit again as a
partner of the Olympic organizing com-
mittee. As sole supplier in the “braces”
category, Bauerfeind is helping to ensure
that athletes from every country receive
the right medical supplies. Bauerfeind
products are available in the three poly
clinics in Stratford (central Olympic village),
Eaton Dorney (Olympic village for rowing
and canoeing), and Weymouth and Portland
(Olympic village for sailing), as well as at all
35 competition venues.
Quality, “Made in Germany”
For this year’s summer games, the London
Organising Committee of the Olympic Games
and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) invited
tenders in a number of different categories.
Bauerfeind participated in the tendering
process for the “braces” category, along
with 15 other companies from around
the world. “We were very proud to get the
nod,” says Chief Executive Officer Prof.
Hans B. Bauerfeind. “A key criterion behind
the decision was the excellent quality of
Bauerfeind supports and orthoses. This
again underlines the international reputa-
tion of our German-made products. We are
looking forward to our Olympic involvement.
Bauerfeind is ready.”
An experienced partner
Apart from the quality of the products,
all involved benefit from the company’s
considerable expertise in terms of looking
after athletes. Bauerfeind AG is bringing the
experience gained from five previous Olym-
pic missions to the 2012 summer games. The
company has been an official supplier to the
German Olympic teams, and has been there
for German competitors at all Olympic Games,
since 2001. During the 2010 Winter Olym-
pic Games in Canada, Bauerfeind acquired
“Friend of The Games” status. This marked
something of a first for the company, which
was now responsible for injured athletes
